Where History Shines

Perth Mint, ahh smell the gold fresh air! Once you step in Perth Mint you will receive a gold, fragile coin. With this gold fragile coin, you will get to print a Perth mint label on it as a memory of Perth Mint. Perth Mint is a special place in Perth because of its fun activities, history of gold and an extraordinary gold show. In Perth Mint you and a group will have a tour guide to show you everything and tell you about golds history. Its fun for families because you learn about gold and get to have family time.

The First Golden Surprise

Once your tour guide arrives you and your group will start exploring the area. The first thing your tour guide is going to show you will be the ginormous coin! It was the design of the first coin in Australia. There will be walls with even more description and some rather fancy coins and gold.

Shiny Activities

My favourite part once you are finished exploring the fancy coin, your tour guide will show you a gold show. At the start you will receive a checklist and at the end you will tick to all the places you had saw. He will get some melted gold and put it in a gold tub flip it and put it in some chemical water and once he/she will take it out it will be GOLD! But it is flaming hot so my tour guide had to wear gloves and a vest to keep him safe. After that incredible show you will get to explore yourself. There is this box with a hand circle and you get to try to pick up the gold and see how heavy it is yourself. Next you will get to see how much your weight is in gold and then you finally get to…..PRINT THE DESIGN ON YOUR COIN!! And take it as a memory back home.

Golden History

Perth Mint officially first opened in 20 Jun 1899 and was create by Sir Jhon Forrest because he was first premier in WA. He had a crucial role which was establishing the mint to process the gold from the gold rushes of WA and to mint coins for circulation in the region. People used to make coins using various tools and materials.

A Day to Remember

Overall, Perth Mint is a great place for you to hang out. I recommend this place to you at least go once! You may feel a bit bored but trust me by the end of the trip you will want to go repeatedly. My favourite part was the gold show. I hope you find something you love to.
